Ellen has been a vocal coach for 19 years, drawing upon her diverse experiences as a performer, director, award-winning high school teacher, and medical voice clinician. As a performer, Ellen's favorite roles include Petra in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Becky in DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP? and Sister Robert Anne in NUNSENSE. She has directed shows including ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, PIPPIN, DAMN YANKEES, WEST SIDE STORY, GUYS AND DOLLS, and many more at the college and high school levels.

Ellen’s expert knowledge of musical theatre song repertoire makes her a sought-after consultant for both students and professional actors building their audition repertoire books. Her students have been admitted to every major musical theatre program in the country. Her students’ NFAA Recognition Awards include Presidential Scholar, Finalist, Honorable Mention and Merit Award Winners.

In addition to coaching, Ellen is a clinically certified speech pathologist who specializes in medical voice therapy. She served as Educational Outreach Coordinator and clinician for the University of Pittsburgh Voice Center from 2007-May 2010. In July 2010, she will begin seeing voice therapy patients through the Cornell Weill Medical Center Department of Otolaryngology in NYC.
